Three water tanks on Kanpur Road will house Boradmeadows water supply in June.

The three black water tanks that look like caged Buddha?s sitting on the corner of Kanpur Road and Janpur Crescent in Broadmeadows, will shortly become the areas sole water supply as the areas underground reservoir undergoes maintenance. The tanks were transferred from Maungaraki and act as replacement water reservoirs when underground holding tanks need renovation. Mike Check, a project manager for the water services company Capacity, says the Broadmeadows reservoir is not being decommissioned and the tanks should be gone in a few months. ?The current reservoir is buried below those water tanks, and we will be looking to change water supply over to the tanks in June. ?Maintenance should take about a month, and time depending we should be out of there in July,? he said. When water supply is changed over to the tanks local residents? water will be cut for ?four hours at a maximum.? Local residents will be advised of which day their water will be cut, and Mr Check says the tanks will provide a more than adequate supply for the area.
